Transfer Domain Registers

I have a few .ws domain names at Register.com that I wanted to transfer to another register. However, Register.com stated that .ws domains can't be transferred from one register to another. Is that true or are they just giving me BS.

No it's true here what .WS registry says:
No. Due to contractual agreements with our registrars it's not currently possible to transfer an existing .WS domain between registrars. Your .WS domain must be administered through the registrar used to originally register the domain.
